Hellebore - Winter's Rose

Ah Winter is nearly upon us, dull with a fine drizzle and a bit of wind. The shortest day is nearly here and its from then on our weather normally deteriorates but to our surprise its been very mild this year with spring flowers already blooming - what does this mean????

Hope spring lingers and winter doesn't arrive in full force, that would be good, especially with people in Christchurch living in cold draughty houses due to the earthquakes. Aftershocks are still happening, I guess they will for some time to come yet.

A quiet little Hellebore exposed to the fine drizzle weathering out this little cold snap.

Thanks to everyone who have left lovely comments over the last few days and weeks while I've been away and also behind. I've enjoyed reading them and appreciate them :)

Getting back to normal now and beginning to 'come back to earth' after having some exciting times away. For those wishing to see the last trip away with Hubby, just a few days, they start here.

Time to organise tea, roast lamb and veges for this wet, windy night :)
