Tombolas!

I had my eye on this radio right from the beginning of the tombola at our village Open Day on Sunday. I spent stacks on tickets but won nothing.

Then, finally, I went back for more and the radio had gone! I was told that our Rector had won it so I let it be known that I wanted it.

The next day I bumped into the Rector and he had heard that I was wanting to make him an offer he couldn't refuse. He said that he didn't want the radio and I could have it. He delivered it today while we were out.

It doesn't work! So it is only good for a blip, I'm afraid.

The moral is: Don't yearn for unbranded things in plain white boxes.
