It's a Family Affair

Best viewed large

I spent a gorgeous afternoon walking along the River Exe & then the Exeter Canal, where I saw this family of swans... 2 cygnets is sad, as I know they can have at least twice that number, but the 2 left looked very healthy, happy & beautifully protected by their parents!

Wildflower meadows teaming with small skipper butterflies, meadow brown & small tortoiseshell butterflies, banded demoiselles. Swallows, house martins, reed buntings. Birds foot trefoil, wild carrot, meadow vethling wildflowers. Water crystal clear, blue sky & cloud, perfect photography weather! It's days like these when I feel it's a shame only one photo is allowed for blipfoto! :)

Sunshine, a bit windy, but glorious views of Exeter Cathedral from the walk, makes it look so ancient, almost medieval! (zoom out to a blooming great pylon & the Victorian spire spoils the feeling!)

Thank you for all my comments from yesterday! xx
