Abrolhos Islands Day 11

This is a section of the island's water front. sadly no decent cafes but it looks inviting anyway. My shack is the left hand yellow one. Very comfortable with a million dollar view from the window. This day the wind had settled and I was able to get back to the mainland in the 'jet' boat in front of my window. These are very fast boats, very powerful. They don't have a conventional propellor but suck water in from underneath and blast it out, jet like, from a drive system just below the water level at the stern. Because they work in very shallow water, often less than half a meter, a propellor system would be useless. The ride back to the mainland was a real roller coaster trip as the ocean swell was about 3 metres (ten feet) high and following us. So we spent the entire trip surfing down these swells. Great fun.
