Brian's Bits

By Kanyl

The weak got to the wall.

I've just spent a few moment and, thus far, been unable to identify the birth of the expression.

Today we took our last trip up "The other side of the lake". The roads are so thin, windy and uppy-downy the the lass comes over all queer traveling them, I don't think you'd get her up there again, even for afternoon tea at Sharrow bay at 30-40 quid a throw.

This followed a run down the "Clickety click" (A66) to see a rather FINE stand of Orchids, easily spotted as we flew by at 60 m.p.h. on our way home a week or so ago.
They, however, can be re-Blipped any time, St. Martin's Church
Martindale cannot.

Last time I was here we could only look through the windows and I was informed that this concept, if not this church was the source of the expression The weak go to the wall, since the only seats were around the wall and the fitter parishioners stood for the duration of the service.

I've come back to add this, after a Google© @ Sharrow Bay
