Les Girafes

If you were ever to imagine how to combine a circus performer, an opera diva (a temperamental one at that) in full flow, heavy rock, a caribbean lilt and nine crimson giraffes, I'd say you'd been spending too much time experimenting with the shrubbery or at the very least, taken one too many of the the brewer's finest.

To actually claim to have experienced this mind altering spectacle, completely sober and in London, would undoubtedly prompt cries of foul play and blatant lies.

Well it is true. Thanks to Compagnie off, those crimson giraffes the diva and the circus surrounding it, I have experienced something most bizarre. Were it not for the explosive confetti launching bangs, I'd be sure I was dreaming but no. it was real surreal enough.

The spectacle marked the end of the Greenwich and Docklands International Festival (GDIF) 2011.
