Plus ça change...

Last day

Panama is apparently the only city in the world with rainforest within its metropolitan borders. All I know is that a $2 taxi ride from our downtown hotel and we were a distinctly steamy, noisy damp forest, looking back at the skyscrapers.

I'm not sure I've been in a country of such contrasts before, without it being contrasts of rich and poor.

It's our last day on this trip. I'm willing to bet anything you'd like that we'll be back within the year.

What a place. It deserves to be better known as a tourist destination - it has so much to offer. (No malaria/yellow fever if you watch where you go and you can drink the water. Surfing, snorkeling, bird-watching, hiking, rafting, beaches with sand you sink up to your ankles in...) Please just don't all rush there when we want to go back... And don't forget your polarising filter...
