Plus ça change...

Living proof

Went into Manchester this morning for a quick trip to the Museum of Science and Industry. The kids had a ball in the interactive section on the top floor, including a faintly surreal reflection dome where it felt like you were shaking your own hand - Katherine is trying it out here

My favourite bit was where they've given out loads of cards with pre-printed questions and then put them all up on the wall. Not quite sure what to make of the one above. There was also a very innovative solution to Global warming.

Katherine had had a sore tummy all morning, and was clearly overwhelmed by the the science experience and threw up outside. She coped through a lunch at the nearby Ox 'Award winning gastropub' (tasty, but small portions and pretty off-hand service) and a brief look at the aeroplanes back in the museum. Then home where she was restored to full health by a quick lie down and some potato waffles and is now bashing hell out of Hungry Hippos with her brother and cousin.

Off tomorrow to the Wye Valley and our two day canoe trip. As predicted, after a week of lovely weather, it is forecast for heavy rain for the next few days. And in hungover hell yesterday, I didn't remember to pack any sensible clothes for that trip, so will be miserable in soggy jeans!
