LocalBoy & His Fotographs

Under Starter's Orders...

If you've visited an amusement arcade in the last forty years, there is a fair chance that you have seen this jockey and his horse. You might even have bet 2 pence or 10 pence that he would beat the other four horses, blue, white, green and yellow to the winning post. This is the 'red horse' and jockey from the Derby Day amusement machine (probably called lots of different names and different versions out there).

We had a few hours in Blackpool this morning before travelling back up the road and Robyn had brought all the coppers from her piggy bank to play at the amusements. I think some of the machines are the same ones from when I went to Blackpool at her age. But a nice wee end to our mini break.

A few weeks ago I was at Perth races and go to take shots of a live race.

Taking today's blip was actually more difficult. We had the little Nikon with us and the door keeping the batteries secure is faulty and keeps opening mid-shot! So to take photos involves one finger on the button, one keeping the door closed!

Back to the Canon tomorrow! Here's my first back blip from yesterday too.
