Unseasonal desperation

Busy, busy, busy. Work until 6.00 am. Up again at 8.15 to get the first lot of proofs off to the client. Work until 3.15 with a break for lunch. Nap. Work from 7.00. Suddenly it's 10.45 pm and I'm blipless.

Panic! Then I spotted this little chap and liked his grumpiness. It's actually a nightlight holder which I brought back from my holiday in Canada in 2006. Preparations were afoot for Halloween while we were there. I'd never seen such a fuss made of Halloween before, and it was all coming to a height on the last night of the holiday, spent in Toronto. We stumbled on a brilliant little bar which was festooned with lots of variations of this, all twinkling merrily away behind the bar and along the counter. We got chatting with the barman, hit it off really well, spent ages and a fortune -- and came away with this as a souvenir of a great night. So, get a match, light a nightlight, off with the lights. Desperation blip done.
