Marjorie's ramblings

A very special flower

When we lived in Sunderland we saw hydrangeas in many gardens, including at our family home. Mum loves them, so we have tried to grow them here. Our success has not been great. There was the year when D pruned them in the autumn after flowering - no flowers the next summer. Then last winter was very severe and the bushes were covered with dead stems. The bushes have grown well, but there are no flowers on one, and this one plus a tiny one on the bush in the image.

It is lovely, (if you like hydrangeas), but more would be welcome. Perhaps I'll be able to blip them in exactly 365 days (if I remember!)

Nearly finished editing my projects. Will mount the image tomorrow......... I've had a lot of fun trying out new techniques in Photoshop.

(This image had minimal editing with a little selective sharpening and two curves adjustment layers.)
