Wadi Rum - dawn

Jordan holiday - Day 7
We got up really early since it wasn't very comfortable sleeping in the tents. The previous day we'd driven for quite a long time in open backed jeeps to get to our campsite, but during our early morning stroll we spotted another campsite in the next valley - and the main road a very short distance away. We'd driven in a big S shape the day before!

They packed us off quite quickly then we got back in the tour bus and drove south to Aqaba, on the Red Sea. It's right next to Eilat (which is across the border with Israel of course) but more charming, less high rise hotels and quite relaxed. I'd consider it for a short break or holiday, seemed a nice little city.

Our group ate in a very nice restaurant in the evening and on the way there Mr T got to say 'look out, there's a camel on the pavement' which, until that moment, he'd not realised that it was something he'd always wanted to say. The other excellent thing was that the restaurant was licensed and the hotel had a bar on the roof! Luxury indeed.
