Raindrops

I'll be back in the morning to add a few words.

We woke to mist, grey skies and rain which lasted for most of the morning. This photograph is of a new shoot emerging from one of the Pieris shrubs that stand in pots near the back door.

Guiri and F were coming to spend the evening and night with us before they travelled on to stay with F's brother in York. We needed to shop for a few things for the evening meal so we set out for Cannon Hall and a late sausage sandwich lunch in the cafe before purchasing the few items in the farm shop we needed. This left us with time for a quick walk around the grounds. The beech trees along the avenue are already losing their leaves and there was a definite feel of autumn about the day, not helped by the greyness and poor light.

It was good to catch up with B & F who we've not seen for several years. The food was good and the conversation just flowed. Lots more to catch up on this morning before they depart on their way.
