Grebe

Walked into town this morning to choose frames for new glasses.

Lots of birds on the river - coots, moorhens, swans, ducks, geese, cormorants, a heron and several grebes. This one disappeared underwater for ages. I managed to catch it as it resurfaced (see the bubbles on the surface) and just before it dived again. My next shot is of a grebe's bum derriere. I like the reflections and movement of the water in this shot.

Oxfam had loads of new travel guides in their bookshop so I stopped and bought a couple on Japan. Will need to do a bit of research on customs. It looks as if formal business dress will be required for my visit.
