Jess & Molly Law

Back to the vet ...

Molly has been back today to see Fiona, her favourite vet.

In the back of the car, she is asking "Are we there yet ... ?" Jess is also in the car, staring idly out of the window.

Next, she is coming out of Fiona's surgery. The report is much as we expected - the stiffness in her limb is not getting any better, and probably never will. Do we want to give her another operation? (Talk of some surgeons doing replacement hips for dogs). Our answer is clear - we don't want to put her through another major intervention. She has every appearance of being a very happy doggy, and as long as that is so we don't want to go down the surgical road again. Fiona recommends acupuncture - thinks Molly would be an excellent subject for this treatment. We will think about it and decide in a couple of weeks.

Lastly, she is in the car, waiting for Jess to come and join her. Jess went in for a quick dental check-up, and she is to have a full-scale cleaning of her teeth at the end of August. This means a full anaesthetic, and I sometimes wish that I could have this for visits to the dentist. (I can just remember being put out, 60 years ago, for an extraction - don't think they do that any more).
