Appaloosa ambling

The hunter is demonstrating an ambling gait on Appaloosa horses do. Penny Royal is an Appaloosa station hack cross and she does the ambling thing very well.

What is most apparent to my untrained eye is the complete lack of up-down movement of the rider in the sadle. That white hat didn't move at all ;-)

Last night the hunter, Dr Booth and I went out for dinner. Dr Booth had good news to celebrate. Tonight the hunter cooks for me, followed by a serious bit of coach blobbing in front of a DVD. All good preparation for tomorrow's hunt.

Oh, I tried out the orange and almond cake linked from Kinda Horrigan's journal. I can thoroughly recommend it. The hunter and the other hunter are happily chomping it down :-)
