Building Sn3 and N Worlds

Eureka and Palisade #4

Slight diversion from making a railroad to watching history. The E and P #4 passed by our house today during the 2011 Railfest here in Durango. It is the oldest active narrow gauge steam locomotive in the US. A beauty. Lots of shiny brass, wood, and a restoration that is A-One. It is a wood burner and very quiet, with a very distinctive whistle.

During Railfest every August on the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, this beauty runs to Silverton several times, with seats for sale to go along.

Sorry for the poor photo - it caught me by surprise.

OK - back to track laying.
