Red ... live and unplugged

Today I have my two wound drains removed: these are plastic tubes which have been left in since the surgery. I can only describe the feeling as unique. Not only was it like nothing I've ever felt before, both removals felt different from each other.

Not painful, but very, very intense. The first feels like my intestines have something metal in them which is being drawn out by a powerful magnet - whoosh! The second, as if I'm made of string and a bunch of loose threads have been pulled out. Maybe I should just blame the painkillers.

Also, by late afternoon, I'm off all the drips and can have fluids, which includes food in liquid form. Never has carrot soup tasted this good. And I normally hate carrot soup.
