dog days of summer

If we take the dogs for a walk at De Soto Memorial National Park in the summer, we spend a lot of the time walking (or in Asia's case) *swimming* through the water just to stay cool. The nature paths are  shaded by mangrove trees, sea grapes and for a large part they meander along the shoreline of the Manatee River and Tampa Bay. A good section of the walk is directly along a beach. We have even sailed to this beach from home. We may have to coax Chloe in to the water sometimes, but never Asia. She drags me right in!
