Hummingbird Moth

I have been looking for one of these guys all summer!

We decided to get out early today before the bad Hurricane Irene weather hit us. Our final destination was the Burnside Plantation to see if the police horses were out ~ sadly they weren't. But on the property is a butterfly garden so we hung out there for a while. After several minutes of taking photos of bumble bees and butterflies I saw this hummingbird moth zooming around. And I got very excited!! I know that this isn't the sharpest of photos but it will have to do.

We are expecting most of the bad weather to hit later tonight and early tomorrow. Our area is expecting 4-6 inches of rain and wind gusts of up to 50 mph. Nothing like the coastal regions, but still bad for our area.
