Pretty Little Yellow Flower

The last day of August.

Does that mean the last day of summer?

I'm a complete chowderhead when it comes to identifying flowers so I haven't a clue as to what this is other than a pretty little yellow flower in a pot.

It just caught my eye in the morning sun.

The heat is unrelenting. Another 106F degree day yesterday with it forecast around there for today. Here's hoping September brings some relief, but the monsoon is all but over so rain is going to be scarce. We might get some threatening skies and rumbles here and there but moisture will be rare.
