Little Trotty Wagtail

Little trotty wagtail went to Dartmouth for a trip,
And tittering, tottering sideways, he looked pretty hip.
He looked me in the eye as he nibbled on a chip,
And said, 'I'm proud to pose for your three hundredth blip!'

My parody comes with thanks to John Clare (1793-1864)

This little bird was hopping around my feet on the embankment in Dartmouth, totally unafraid. He'd obviously learned a thing or two from the gulls and was expecting pastie crumbs or leftover chips. I had neither.

He's really a Grey Wagtail, but I like the common name as it so well describes his movement.
