The Downs

Durdham Downs.

A massive open space in North Bristol.

A place to fly kites, play games, walk dogs, amble, sunbathe and, on Saturdays, home to the Downs League when about 20 consecutive games of football take place.

Every Saturday morning the groundsmen go around with a big trailer and erect the goalposts. After the matches they go around again and take them down.

A funny day - great showers of rain followed by bright sunshine followed by great showers followed by...

Should be at a Stag Do but I've got to run 20 miles tomorrow morning and the two don't really mix. I've been feeling guilty all day..
