Bike and a Hike

Well that was a bit of a surprise today - sun, shorts and T-shirt weather. Wasn't going to pass that opportunity up and waste it doing silly things like cutting grass, so headed off to the local Country Park, with Euan tagging along with me (you'd think it was the Green Mile he was being dragged on from all the faces he was pulling and all the teenage humming and hawing he did before we got on the trail).

Lots and lots of mud to splash through as we made our way up to the dam following the Brothie Burn and then on up to the top of the hill here to admire the view and for a bit of a rest stop (850ft climb in total, the last bit basically through a bog; we walked that bit) before we headed back down to treat ourselves to a McDonalds. Funnily enough, there's no bike stands or the like down at the McDonalds we stopped at, I'm guessing they don't get a lot of cyclists stopping off for a light snack there. Still, it was nice the way the other customers moved out of the way as the two of us, covered head-to-toe in mud splatter, walked up to the counter to order our burgers - a good tip there if you want to get served faster in a fast-food joint.

Didn't take any many photos today, no great shakes at least, but that was balanced out by the great fun we had instead. Now going to sit down for some scran and a movie and a rare quiet Saturday night in. Might even be alcohol free.

Might be...
