Hot, Hot half-marathon

Off to Basingstoke for their first ever half-marathon. Bet when they planned the race they hadn't expected temperatures of 25-26 degrees.....

This was husband's fifth half marathon of the year. I looked out for him coming in at his previous times and was beginning to get a bit worried by 2 hrs (there had been a lot of ambulance sirens and activity from the paramedics due to the heat). I was very pleased to see him run in to the park. He looked exhausted. It was a hilly race and the heat was unrelenting. He reckons it was the hardest race he's ever done - and you can see how tightly he's hanging on to the medal!

Saw another report of a race on blipfoto this afternoon (Edinburgh 10K) - can't quite believe the difference in the North/South weather!
