Portavadie

I tried to have something of a quiet day today, and Cathleen, Cailean and I went over to Portavadie Marina for lunch. I have blipped from here before - once again in the rain - but today it was dry enough for us to get a walk after lunch between the showers, and to see the remarkable development from the other side of the old basin, even though the clouds were dark overhead.

On the extreme right of this shot you can see the bow of the Chico , a registered National Historic Ship, one of the "little boats" that was at Dunkirk and originally Malcolm Campbell's "Bluebird" (or one of them). It is now a charter boat based here and cruising the west coast.
