Hopping around!

'Orfordly' Grey in Orford

Today we went to Orford and looked over to Orford Ness, beyond which lies the North Sea.

It was very windy again. We'd fancied a boat trip to Orford Ness, however, the blackboard had a 'No Boat Trips Today' message on it.

The 'pagoda' that you can see is one of several bunkers where parts for the atomic bomb were tested. The 'Ness is now a nature reserve and lots of great birds hang out there.

For lunch we had a picnic in sight of Orford Castle. Later, we had a stroll along the Suffolk Coastal Path, having our cobwebs blown well away in the process. Then, a cuppa in the tea rooms on the Quay.
