The Edge of the Wold

Solar flares

This was my second chance to see the sun rise this morning. The first time from my usual place it was obscured by clouds. The second time it was rising above the lone tree drumlin.

It was a day of heavy showers and towering clouds, brilliant sunlight and fleeting blue skies. We spent much of it in a meeting in Warrington, talking about drought plans. At least we won't be needing them this year.

The curlew was in the same place at Sandside. Is it the same one every day? There is usually only one. But one curlew looks very like another, so who knows. If it is the same one, it isn't keen on big red Volvos stalking it along the prom, it hastily strides away to what it feels is a safe distance.
