The Chair

Firstly thank you to everyone for stopping by for yesterdays sunrise. I appreciate the words left along with the hearts and stars and feeling overwhelmed by being top of the spotlight page, you are kind souls - thank you. The image was the upside of being up so jolly early.

Today was a cracker - blue sky in the east and over our small town, a slight breeze and it was so very warm, a small break in the house jobs saw me heading to the beach.

The Chair was designed by Christchurch architect David Hill who had patrolled the beach as a surf lifesaver in the 1980's. It resembles a large deck chair - a piece of oversized beach furniture that acts as a sculpture in the landscape. The Chair provides panoramic views up and down the beach while providing shelter and a base for 3 lifeguards on patrol. It is accessed by a ladder and the yellow and red stripped colour scheme identifies it as a lifeguard facility.

The Chair is waiting for business as the lure of long summer days is getting closer.

Enjoy the weekend folks :)
