Cloud at Skail

I went out to Deerness again and walked out to Mull Head. There was a flock of about 25 snow buntings, but I couldn't get close enough for a photograph.

The little bird I mentioned on Saturday was still at Sandside and is now thought to be a 'desert wheatear', a rare winter 'accidental' visitor to the UK. It must have been caught in the strong Southerly winds that have been blowing for a week and whirled all the way here from Iberia or even N0rth Africa. See it here.

I like this cloud which appeared as I waited for the bus at Lighthouse Corner.
