People on a Bridge

U is for Universtity

Inspired by a friend and a fellow blipper kaitlynbrooke, I am doing a mini-blip challenge. For the next eight days I will focus on things that I am grateful for.

I will spell with my posts "thank you". :-) This is an eighth post in the series.

U is for University. Where it is OK to consider ideas that are impractical, without budget, and gravity-defying. Where "the melting pot that never melted" (playwright Tony Kushner's quote about America) stands a chance to actually melt a bit, because it is easier to create or find the opportunities for it to occur. Where the little older Young Ones are forced to do the last bit of growing up outside of the family home, yet still in a somewhat protected environment. Where a lot of people read. Where one can find ridiculous people with really big egos, but also humble and magnificent mentors and role models.

U is for Universal Access. Designing and building environments that can be safely and comfortably enjoyed by people with all ranges of physical abilities: children, elderly, people with walkers and in wheelchairs, vision-impaired, and so on. Very important stuff for designers to consider!

U is for Unicorns. Don't tell me that the idea of a horse with a twisty horn sticking out of its forehead doesn't tickle your fancy even a little bit.

U is for Universe. Now that's an idea that tickles fancy! Big. Mysterious. Out there...

U is for U gotta be kidding me. Is it really time to get up already???

Have a good one!
