Marjorie's ramblings

Late rose

It's been a dry day but everything in the garden remained soaking from last night's rain. I could not resist blipping Alnwick Castle again. The roses continue to bloom and to look very beautiful.

Heard a brilliant talk on Shakespeare in Art by Gail-Nina Anderson this afternoon. That's the 3rd time I've heard her, all on different subjects, and each lecture has been brilliant.

Then we went to the Literary event in Wall: Crime and Cake, to here Ann Cleeve talk about her work. She had a crime scenes officer with her to talk about the advice she gives to Ann and to the TV series of her Vera books. I didn't like the TV version - thought the acting was wooden - but I'm going to give the books a try and reserve judgement. It was a good talk.
