Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

By NannaK

Adios, Amigas

Two members of our old rowing club came up to the island this morning to collect
Amigas, our double rowing shell. My friend C, (blipper Islandcat) and I had some very fine rows over the years here on the island in our boat, but now, due to schedules and other factors, it hasn't been used so much so we are selling her to the rowing club to be used more often in Seattle. It's bittersweet, for sure, but I think it's the right decision. They are carrying her from the boathouse at hightide on the beach at the end of the bay up to our cabin where tomorrow we'll load it on C and P's boat to take it to Montague Harbor, and put it on top of M's car for the drive home to Seattle. Don't worry, there are other boats here to row!

This blip is both for the record, and also because I liked the green water (perfect for a row, of course !!) and the yellow reflection. It's possible that Islandcat will blip from this beach out to the north, for another, more artistic, perspective. Looking forward to a nice dinner together tonight and a toast to Amigas! (after a sauna.)
