Remembered

This Remembrance weekend is a time to remember all those who perished in the wars, past and present and especially family members.

The person in the photograph was a cousin in N's family who died in WWII. He was 23 years old when it happened, a navigator in a Lancaster Bomber shot down over Ijsselmeer, Holland. LM is buried in Wonseradeel Protestant Churchyard and N's family went to visit his grave once. There is no one else to remember him now as he was an only child. His father was unable to come to terms with his son's death and died ten years later. His mother lived for another forty years and died a widow in Kingston on Thames.

I would also like to remember four other members of the family who lost their lives and two other young people who were killed recently.
