The Edge of the Wold

Yellow dawn

I stopped on my way to work for a quick walk through Dallam Park, up the hill towards the far side of the Park where the fallow deer tend to be in the morning. The main herd was out of sight, but there were a few grazing under the trees, and this shows the sun rising above the ridge creating silhouettes of the trees and animals against the yellow morning light. It was this same morning light that last week was reflected on the River Bela that flows through the Park.

The weather degenerated through the morning with strong winds blasting showers against the office windows. In the afternoon, we had a cake fest, a send off for a colleague who is taking unpaid leave for the next year.

Then as the sun set behind Scout Scar, there was a beautiful red sky, though we would only have seen a small part of the sunset from where we were. From the level of the coast this would have been one of the best of the year. Did any of the local blippers photograph it?

And now it's the weekend. One month to Christmas, where does the time go?
