Back to the Sheep Heid

The refurb'ed Sheep Heid is... Odd... I mean, it needed tidied up, spruced. But (probably because it's owned by a southern company with many many similar pubs) it feels strange seemingly trying to be an English country pub. But there are nice touches, and they've kept a lot more of the old stuff on the walls than I thought they would.

The cocktail menu, however, looks vile - and the menu is a touch uninspiring. Where local suppliers used to be used (like Crombie's for sausages) you get the feeling this is 'to a budget' and most likely Brake Bros. supplied. The chips were... Alright.... We had a couple of bowls. Definitely from frozen, a wee bit greasy. We're planning on testing the menu properly next week - for Wednesday night has returned as quiz night y'see.

Though we did terribly tonight. Nowhere near our norm. Pah.
