We Have Lift Off...

We met this swan earlier this afternoon when it was gliding on the Kennet and Avon at Foxhangers and flew to catch us up as we approached the Caen Hill Marina before taking off again, returning in the direction it had come from.

Later, we met up with the same swan near to Bolland's Hill bridge at Seend, first with a group of Canada geese that had all come down from the field opposite to circle in front of us, and then it followed us to the swing bridge to the east. I took this from the swing bridge as it finally headed off towards the Barge Inn.

It was a cold but fine day, better than predicted by the meteorologists, and pretty good for December.

I have been learning more about the K-5 and enjoying it, although this particular shot was taken with my white K-x and my Sigma telephoto. All but one of the alternatives below were made with the K-5.
