He might have been wanting the knife rather than the apple, but it was a bit of the apple he got, apparently chewing it properly for once and not using it as a means of inducing vomiting, unless he found a way to delay the vomiting for ten hours. Fortunately (given our late return last night) he didn't wake up until his normal time and wasn't too shouty or thumpy whilst everyone else remained asleep upstairs, though he did make a slight bang when he discovered that the doors of the cupboards underneath the window are apparently only held in place with magnetic catches, resulting in a mild scare and lightly-trapped legs, though he seemed more concerned for the plastic beeping thing he'd been dragging around which was also trapped, though similarly unharmed. Perhaps the best way to get them to stop attacking cupboard doors is to enable the cupboard doors to retaliate rather than just blocking access to the general cupboard area or sticking those plastic clippy things on the inside of the doors.
