Our place in the world

My early morning run started in misty rain, which soon stopped. The rest of the run was not wet, even though for much of the rest of the day it has been raining. I was able to take a series of what I thought were very good photographs. Of a fellow exerciser on the beach front, a shelduck pair, black oyster catchers, a tui in a tree top, wonderful bright pohutukawa flowers.

Went to download them onto the computer this evening and clearly made some sort of input/output error, and all pictures on the memory card were wiped. This time before anything was downloaded. Not a single picture from this morning remains.

Too late to get anything outside, I am in the territory of an emergency blip.

Here you have a framed page out of an old school atlas, which shows where New Zealand is in comparison with the rest of the world.
