Benmore

Today I was fortunate to travel to Dunoon to visit four projects we had funded. I love going somewhere on a boat and the short ferry crossing from Gourock allowed us to enjoy the stunning scenery beyond Loch Long and the Holy Loch. The sea was very calm, the sky almost cloudless and the sun shone on distant snow-capped hills. Perfect.

One of the places we visited, and where we had the privilege of a tour with the Curator, was Benmore Garden, an outpost of the Royal Botanic Gardens of Edinburgh. Climbing up the the shoulder of a hill from almost sea level, the Garden reaches nearly to where the snow lay today. I had not visited before, and it is beautiful. I will be back.
