Holiday Storefront

I passed this scene walking back from getting a haircut, late this afternoon. It's a brick building (one of many in our small downtown), extended towards the rear. The fire escape on the left is intriguing--as much one of a kind as is the building.

The lady who cuts my hair is named Larraine. I think that's how she spells it, but in any case, I find it amusing that the old name over the entrance to this building (just a stone's throw away) is "The Lorraine" (best seen large). Checking that name on the web I found that the building was evidently restored (including the retail space) by a nonprofit organization that seeks to facilitate "access to housing and homeownership."
