Good old-fashioned fun

After breakfast, the day began watching The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo's Child, recorded by Carl from TV broadcasts yesterday and today. I thoroughly enjoyed both of them.

Not long after that I packed up my things and headed across town to Ashbourne for my annual Stephen's Day visit to my best mates Derek and Rita. It was just the three of us this year, but that didn't cramp out style in the least. Rita laid on a fabulous spread, we watched a bit of TV (main item Shrek 2), and then Rita suggested a game of Jenga. It's ages since we've done this sort of thing, but we had a terrific fun time. We hadn't read the rules for the first game and weren't adding removed pieces back to the top of the pile, so things got even more hectic and nail biting and competitive afterwards. Such fun!

I left about 8:15, watched the (rather disappointing) new episode of Poirot, and fell into bed shortly after 11:00.
