A day out!

We decided on a day out today - the weather was supposed to be good?!? - so we headed for Kendal and the lakes.

Those among you that own a motorbike will be familiar with this van. It is at Devil's Bridge, Kirby Lonsdale and at weekends parking at this end of the bridge is reserved for motor cyclists. Today there was only one bike and it wasn't us! (Chris' bike is in the garage in bits!) So we parked there and had a 'pot of tea and a bacon sandwich' yum!

We went on to Kendal but the weather only got worse. We had passed some blipworthy shots of the Aire Valley flood plain with interesting light from dark clouds and bright sunshine as well as rainbows but Chris isn't good at stopping in the car.

We called in at K village in Kendal and got some bargain footwear and then went on to the Wild Boar Inn on the Crook road to Bowness to suss it out for a possible short break for our anniversary in March. Very nice, we had a drink by the open fire and booked 2 nights - here
We did pop down to Bowness for a coffee and a quick look at the lake where there were lots of birds having afeeding frenzy.
