Flowers In The Forest

Out at the City Of Bears today to take out a HUGE rose bush that had overwhelmed a lilac tree and in the process had grown together with a Rhododendron. Man, it looked a hopeless task at the beginning.

However, between the three of us we pruned and pruned and hacked (I, obviously, was the hacker) and after 3 hours of plant brutality there was a new gap in the garden. We found a plant pot in the middle that at some point in the mid 90s might have had geraniums in it.

I think we'll all have sore hands tomorrow.

We were talking about how mild the weather has been and I was told that there were flowers poking through at the top end of the garden. This is one of them. January. New flowers. Madness.
