A Walk In The Woods

Went out early this morning as the forecast was pants for this afternoon. A lovely walk up the Neroberg (I will Blip the Russion Orthodox church there but it deserves a better day to show off it's proper glory). After enjoying the view (yet another Blip possibility) I headed off on a track down into the woods.

This was brave stupid as it soon turned "entertaining". That means it got steep, muddy and just for that added frisson of excitement occasionally the path was covered in ice with a nice slick of water. I spent a lot of time and care picking my way down through that - picking the really good places to put the flat of my foot on to maintain as much of my balance as possible. It's an art you kow. An art that was beyond me as I flailed and "woooargggh"-ed my way down. Mainly on my @rse. This was funny the first time but soon lost it's charm. I think it was when my trousers ripped that I really just wanted to get home and have a good old sulk.

Still, there's nothing like a walk through the centre of town, when you look like .as my friend Aussie Mick would say, "A Dero In The Park"* to make you feel even more of a dick stupid than you look.

I've changed my clothes now and we'll never mention it again.

Today's Blip was taken long before anything bad happened. I think it's quite pretty.

*Dero=derelict=tramp but you knew that.
