Real magic and sparkle

My poor Hamamelis (witch hazel) blooming earlier than it should (I linked to this the other day) got a real blast of frost this morning.

We got so used to the white stuff last year it was hardly noteworthy but the hard frost this morning gave the garden the magic and sparkle it has been missing over the past weeks.

Everything looked fabulous but it is mighty cold!!
