White Meets Green

Walked up to my mum's in bright sunshine this lunchtime. Then, just as I was dishing up her lunch, there was wild rattling as the wind whipped hailstones at the window panes. I was so lucky not to be out in it; would have been painful on the face.

By the time I was ready to head home, the hailstorm had finished, and we were back to lovely sunshine. But everything I passed was edged with white. In this tub, outside our front door, the spring-green shoots were surrounded by wintry stones of ice. It's the first really wintry weather we've had this season, and even it did not last long.

Now it's a super clear starlit night, with a slim crescent moon; great to look out at as I drove home from line-dancing.
