Slipping and Sliding

Backblip, came in last night and decided a few extra hours kip would be time better spent than opening the laptop. Feeling good this morning so feeling vindicated!

Regular visitors to my blip will know that I like going up to Townhill Loch - usually in the summer with the light nights and have blipped a few swan pics like this one or that one.

We went up there yesterday afternoon with a loaf of bread to feed the swans. The majority of the loch was frozen over so the swans and birds were all congregating at a little pool of water beside the bridge.

We felt really sorry for this wee one. He was having to walk, skate, slip across the ice and every time he tried to get into the water and swim across for the bread, he would get chased out the water and back on to the ice by a swan. He would retreat and then try to sneak into the water but would end up breaking the ice and falling in, which would alert the angry swan who'd chase him back out. So we had to try and ping bread on to the ice for him. Wee shame.
