A concrete love affair

iPhone image of a beautifully utilitarian electricity sub station on Hinckley road in Leicester. This was probably built in the 1930's to maintain supply to the burgeoning area of Western Park which expanded the city westward around that time. It still fulfils the role of a sub station as well as providing a structure for an O2 base station. There's a number of similar structures in the city, some in use others not, but all are very much of their respective eras.
