A Flash of Light

Wow, what a busy day! Rosemary did a run whilst I went on the turbo trainer. She got lost(ish) and was away for nearly two hours and I did about 25km without leaving the house. I was back first obviously.

We then headed off into town as I fancied a prime lens for my camera. I won't incriminate the man in the shop but he suggested that I was better getting it elsewhere as they could not come close to matching the price. Off to NTP for a coffee and a pain au chocolat after that. I could have stayed all day as the staff were in a chatty mood, as was I but R n I were going to The Lowry to see an exhibition.

It was called "A Flash of Light" by Chris Nash, an excellent photographer specialising in dance photography. Really superb and I much preferred the ones with minimal post-production. We had a wander round the docks of around Media City, where this image comes from. I was having as much fun as a pig in poop, but R gets bored when the camera is out! The light was fading fast, the sensor of my camera is rubbish beyond ISO400 and we had an early booking at Bistro1874 in the centre of town.

Dinner was good with the tasting starter being my fav! The fried tofu in black pepper with wasabi was my fav, although the soup and goats cheese parcel were excellent too. My main, a chesnut and shallot pie with celeriac mash and beetroot was good, although the pastry needed a few mins! I could have easily stolen all of R's daupinoise though! Yummy. The sticky toffee pudding was full of dates, ever so light and about the best I tasted....shame that the chef had a party of mice earlier and mistook me for someone that enjoyed the same size of portion!
